bob's burgers thanksgiving episodes an indecent thanksgiving proposal

Season 3, Episode 5: An Indecent Thanksgiving Proposal

You read that correctly. Bob’s Burgers - the show that has arguably the best Thanksgiving episodes every single year - didn’t actually get its first Thanksgiving episode until season three.

Season 1 and 2 clearly missed out because this episode introduces us to Bob’s absolute love of the ultimate cook’s holiday. It also introduces us to the classic “Bob would like to just cook a Thanksgiving dinner to enjoy with his family but the universe has other plans” format that always delivers.

In this episode, Mr. Fischoeder hires Linda and the kids to pretend to be his family on Thanksgiving in order to seduce an old girlfriend who only seems to go for taken men. What about Bob, you say? Bob gets to pretend to be the cook for this new faux family. Hijinx ensue when Bob dabbles in a bit too much absinthe after having his favorite holiday stolen from him.

Season 4, Episode 5: Turkey in a Can

Probably the most “Thanksgiving” of all the Thanksgiving episodes, someone seems to be sabotaging the perfect dinner Bob has planned for his family - including a three day brine called The Father of the Brine” - by repeatedly putting Bob’s prepped turkeys into the toilet while everyone is sleeping.

Meanwhile, Gene is on a mission to write a Thanksgiving carol (because why should Christmas have all the good ones?) with the help of Linda and Aunt Gayle. And Tina is desperately trying to earn herself a spot at the adults table by showing off how mature she’s become.

Season 5, Episode 4: Dawn of the Peck

It’s the Turkey Apocalypse as Linda and the kids leave a very upset Bob at home not spend Thanksgiving at Wonder Wharf for the Turkey Trot. Running with turkeys seemed like a fun idea, until the the turkeys team up and turn on the humans, leaving our favorite family with no safe way to get home.

Meanwhile, Bob dons his favorite pair of sweatpants, pours himself some daytime whiskey, and pops on a Donna Summer CD while refusing to cook anything for Thanksgiving out of spite. But seeing his lonely turkey baster is all he needs before he decides he can’t fight his true nature.

Season 6, Episode 4: Gayle Makin' Bob Sled

Bob’s perfect family Thanksgiving dinner is threatened again, but this time it’s due to Linda’s sister Gayle, who is stuck at home with a leg injury. Bob agrees to go pick her up and bring her over, as long as Linda and the kids help with the dinner prep while he’s gone.

Should be easy enough, right? Well this is “Bob’s Burgers” so obviously Bob and Gayle get caught in a snowstorm as they try to make their way back to the Belchers while Linda and the kids reveal very quickly that they’re probably the last people you’d want in charge of cooking a meal for Thanksgiving.

Louise and Gene are in full sabotage mode as they convince Tina to bring her Erotic Friendfiction “The Quirky Turkey” to life. If they can create a Thanksgiving play that is so offensive, Mr Frond will have no choice but to call it off, they will have their precious half day before Thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, Linda stumbles upon a potato that look exactly like her dead grandfather so she decides to keep it around as a member of the family for a while much to Bob’s dismay.

Season 8, Episode 5: Thanks-hoarding

The Belcher clan comes together to help Teddy out in a true moment of desperation. With his family announcing last minute they’ll be coming to his house for Thanksgiving, Teddy finds himself having to host a dinner he is not exactly qualified for.

Season 9, Episode 7: I Bob Your Pardon

It’s a very selfless Thanksgiving as the Belchers take on the task of trying to save a very special turkey - Drew P. Neck - from a trip to the slaughterhouse.

With the help of a reporter named Ralph and the mayor’s assistant, Marsha, they just might actually pull it off.

Season 10, Episode 8: Now We're Not Cooking with Gas

Move out of the way, Little King Trashmouth and Gary, the Belchers need the back alley to use as their kitchen when the gas goes out on Thanksgiving. There is no way Bob is going to let a little thing like no gas stop him from cooking the Riverbrook Lake Farms Heritage Turkey he finally managed to get a hold of.

However, it’s going to be quite the process to keep a fire going in the back alley long enough to cook the turkey properly. Fingers crossed because Bob deserves this win!

Season 11, Episode 7: Diarrhea of a Poopy Kid

Bob isn’t the only Belcher who loves Thanksgiving. Gene is probably the closest second thanks to his absolutely passion for all things edible. Which is why it’s absolutely devastating when he wakes up on Thanksgiving Day with the stomach flu.

Gene has to spend the holiday practically hovering over the toilet, so the rest of the family does their best to cheer him up by telling him stories that will hopefully keep his attention off the meal he definitely won’t be able to partake in.

Season 13, Episode 8: Putts-giving

Possibly the least Thanksgiving of all the Bob’s Burgers Thanksgiving episodes, Season 13’s episode takes the Belchers on a mini-golf adventure when they stumble upon a coupon and see that it’s open on Thanksgiving Day.

Bob is eager to get home to finish cooking the meal he obviously has planned for the evening, but obviously mini-golf-themed obstacles get in the way, while Gene and Louise deal with the aftermath of accidentally breaking one of the hole’s obstacles.
