Bob’s Burgers Recipes: Baby You Can Chive My Car Burger

Have you ever wanted to make one of Bob Belcher’s burgers in real life? That’s a silly question! Of course you have. That’s why we created this recipe for the Baby You Can Chive My Car Burger with fried pickle wheels included! If you need a refresher, this iconic Bob Belcher burger was featured in a flashback in the episode Father of The Bob. While it was RUFF to see Big Bob being so tough on teenaged Bob, the burger recipe looked INCREDIBLE.

This is OUR take on the burger. We have a hot honey drizzle, sour cream and Onion fried pickles, a healthy slather of goat cheese, and, of course, chives! It’s perfection. We highly recommend putting the fried pickles IN the burger to eat.

Here’s the recipe:

Baby You Can Chive My Car Burger From Bob’s Burgers

SERVES 2

INGREDIENTS:

Fried pickles:

1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup water

1/2 tsp garlic powered

5 grinds black pepper

2 cups crushed Sour Cream and Onion Potato chips

12 pickle rounds (or more if you want to snack!)

2 inches of vegetable oil in a Dutch oven or fry-safe pan

8 toothpicks

Burgers:

10 ounces 80/20 ground beef

2 burger buns

spreadable goat cheese

2 tbs chives, chopped

1 tbs butter

salt

pepper

Hot honey:

1 tbs honey

1 tsp hot sauce

warm water, if needed

DIRECTIONS:

1. Fry the pickles! Combine the flour, water, garlic powder, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix to combine.

2. Put your crushed chips into a small bowl. Pat your pickles dry with a paper towel. Next, dredge the pickles in the flour mixture, letting the excess drip off, and transfer to the chip bowl and cover the pickles with the chip crumbs, gently pressing them down into the chips. Prepare all pickle chips.

3. Meanwhile heat your vegetable oil to 375 degrees. When ready, place the pickles in the oil and fry for 1 minute on each side or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place onto a paper towel-lined plate.

4. For the burgers: mix your meat, salt and pepper together and form two patties (each 1/2 inch thick). Make sure your meat is seasoned well!

5. Heat your pan and drizzle a little olive oil. Sear on each side until a meat thermometer reads 130. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 min.

6. Wipe out the pan (or not!). Add your butter. Toast your buns (medium heat) until golden brown.

7. Meanwhile, make your hot honey. Mix hot sauce and honey together. Adjust for taste if you want spicier or sweeter. If it’s too thick to drizzle, add a few drops of hot water.

8. burger time! Bottom bun, patty, a generous spread of goat cheese, chives, and a GENEROUS drizzle of hot honey. More than in the video! Next, top bun.

9. Use toothpicks to place your pickles. Take a cute pic. Now, place the pickles IN the burger and devour it!
